Sebastián Coates

Stay tunned! On Tuesday, Sebastián Coates is in the starting lineup against Peru, playing for the Conmebol cup's semifinals.

Back from suspension and starting for Uruguay in Copa America semi. Starting now. Although I'm not sure we're really interested in him anymore, all talk has disappeared.

Looks very unlikely that we will sign him but ive been very impressed with him so far. i can see him ending up in a poor european league though like a lot of south american youngsters do. Will be a shame if he doesnt get a big move and improve his game but he wont be the first.

Also looking forward to watching Arevalo play. I think this guy would be a very good back up player to De Jong and wouldnt cost that much. We need another dm not Vieira has retired and i think we need to target someone whos like NDJ and this guy is.

He's certainly an imposing figure out on the field.

Couldn't agree more. I just really hope Savic is phenomenal because he quite simply couldn't offer the physical threat. The consensus is that Savic is a very technical player (much like vincent kompany) and that he'd contribute to attack with his feet (long balls, through balls, footwork etc...). If Coates has those traits as well, I will be very dissapointed we didn't get him instead. It's really unlikely we're getting him now.

He does appear to have those traits, but there's no reason to be disappointed. Savic is a high quality prospect. And we still might end up with Coates at some point.

OH DARN!!! Does Mancini knows how rare it is to have a huge player with technical mastery to match? We've only got two players like that.

I hope in the near future. I just can't see people like Wenger (who need him more) passing up a golden opportunity like him.

We have several excellent players in the same position and we have been known to swoop in when someone moves in on a target.

Arevalo along with Diego Perez were key to Uruguay's game during World Cup, I believe he is about to be released from Botafogo, so you could get him very cheap. Sebastian didn't have much work today, but hey! We are off to the finals, on sunday.
