And what about the price? TOo much, too little?

Too much of course. You dont see many defenders costing that much without the price being massively inflated.

He is of course now worth less and you can get him for much less.

Breaking news. Liverpool sign 'New Lawro'.

Liverpool today secured the signing of Sebastian Coates for £20 million. The highly rated defender is tipped to be one of the greatest players ever to come from the country who can boast being the winners of the first world cup. Liverpool's outlay of Coates (£20m), Downing(£20m), Henderson (£20m) and Charlie Adam (£9), has been lauded as the start of a fine new era in Liverpool's illustrious history.

or..

City's lavish spending continues on Uruguayan unknown.

Mega-rich Manchester City today added to their stratospheric outlay by capturing Sebastian Coates. The unproven defender is though to have cost around £20m in addition to his 5 year, £170k per week contract. This must seriously raise doubts amongst City's current squad, especially aging Kolo Toure, who found himself frozen out for the majority of the season, and has been left at home while his millionaire team-mates enjoy the Los Angeles sun.

And that is why I no longer take any notice of our outgoing fees.

I'm thinking it's about right to be honest. Granted, people will criticise me knowing that VK, Savic and clichy total £19 million. However if Savic is going to be deployed as a backup/rotation player (which I highly doubt), then he needs to buy a pen.

I personally doubt it. The deal for Boateng was probably struck as soon as Savic was on the horizon. One thing's for sure, if we do get Coates, someone has to leave.

P.S. In hindsight, it's too much. sorry for being stupid :p

The coments are laughing because are supporters of Gallinol.
Gallinol is a team that´s in the shadow of Nacional along 97 years, so they are very jealous of us and everything good that happens to us is hurtful to them

By summer of next year, here are the 5 CDs I want to see battling it out for Supremacy: Kompany, Savic, Coates, Vertonghen and Boyatta. Literally speaking we should be the Dawgs bollox and a CL top 3 hopeful then :)

Give it up Vertonghen, we havent had a serious link to him since May. I know you love him, but let it go man..
We can't have a serious link to a man who has publicly stated he wants to play one more year with Ajax. Meaning, next year, the fight will be on. To be hoonest, I am not too worried. Unless Savix becomes the Dawgz Bollox this year, I am certain Lescott and Kolo do no have what it takes to instill enough confidence in the coach that he doesn't need a new CD. :)

-- Thu Jul 14, 2011 2:52 pm --

Has nothing to do with Intelligence. Some members have players they like and talk about a lot! And those members are associated with said players.

For me? (I.e. the Dax above) that will be Javier Pastore and Jan Vertonghen!

Yeah...but if we sign Coates you can be sure it wont be anywhere near 20m....

City dont pay inflated fees anymore and he plays for a team in Uruguay. Which means that he isn't playing for a big club that are in no need to sell and can ask for what they want.

I know mate, but if we did..

We'd be paying in cash anyway, which will inevitably lower whatever price is being reported. SA clubs will have a hard time resisting cash upfront.
