Seeing city players out and about?

Also as a taxi driver in Cheshire picked up the likes of nicky butt, Steve Bruce, Peter schmeichel, Paul parker and just a couple of months go Benjamin mendy. And colin hendry at Aberdeen airport
I saw john O'Shea several years ago trying to flag me down on the A537 just before Alderley Edge. He must have been late for training as he was in his training gear, and probably fearful of Fergie's hairdryer treatment. I gave him the V-sign and carried on driving.

In my last house my next door neighbour is the CEO of a premier league club so I used to see quite a few well known faces visit. I currently live next door to an ex premier league player who does quite a bit of work in the media so is instantly recognisable but I have never spoken to him in the 3.5 years I have lived here. The point I am making is in response to some of the comments that some of the famous faces can be right miserable bastards.I think if you asked anybody famous what is the thing they hate most about being famous is being pestered by someone they don’t know approaching and engaging them as their bessie mate they have not seen for ages. What is the point of an autograph, it’s usually a scribble on a scrap of paper that gets shoved in to the back of a drawer. Even worse is demanding a photo of them when they are out in private that is then posted all over the Social Media. At organised events, autographs and photos are fair game. However when they are out with their families in private what gives anyone the right to go and pester them. If you have seen the Ricky Gervaise sketch on autograph hunters, the bane of his life, it sums up the situation perfectly. Why do you think the players have head phones on when they leave the team bus, it’s so they don’t get mithered . So the so-called miserable bastards are usually not so. They are politely telling you that they don’t know you and they don’t want you as a mate, because they have more than enough mates already thank you very much.

Agree mate. Grown men begging for pictures and autographs to me is embarrassing. If i was a rich footballer i'd be hated.
I think for kids they should always try and make the effort but its mostly grown men grabbing them and wanting there constant attention, madness.

I saw Vinny Kompany once and i just smiled and walked past. I don't know him, he doesn't owe me anything. I've never got the whole selfie together thing.

Every job has its chores. It’s a small price to pay for the lives they lead.

It's a very short career most will miss it once they disappear from the back pages

They should embrace it all and enjoy every moment while they can

I’ve seen many over the years but this weekend I had a good chat with the goat on Saturday afternoon in the Novotel bar and then saw Txiki in the Hilton before the match and and said hello to Dickov in the bar after the match.

On a side note any future trips I hope we always get the West side as that Boxpark was brilliant.

Haha it was mate, I was in it for what seemed like half a day trying to get to the 6th. I was only saved when a young kid got in and I clocked he used his card, I didn’t know whether to be grateful or give the little brat a slap.

I seen Berkovic once in the Trafford Centre. About 09.30 on a Monday morning on crutches..the Monday after we'd lost 0-2 away at Norwich.. The game I drove back for 6 hours with a migraine. Anyway, I went up to him to have a chat and to ask how he was, and the way he acted was like he was fucking royalty. I went ballistic and threatened to throw him off the escalator and fuck his other foot up. A truly horrible arrogant TWAT. Met The Goat and Dickov around the same time and both were a credit to the club.

I sat next table to him in the Restaurant Bar and Grill. To be fair I didn’t know it was him till he got up but I wouldn’t have spoken anyway. Glad I didn’t now.
