Though the semi wasn't a bad day out, it would have been meaningless if we didn't finish the job.
The big difference was that we were underdogs for the semi, but hot favourites for the final, so our expectations were probably very different beforehand and that had an effect on how we viewed both games.
From a City point of view lots of us were thinking after we beat utd, wouldn't it be typical City if we lost to Stoke? In that sense typical City died at the final and that has such far reaching consequences, that even beating utd cannot surpass it..
From a personal point of view, when we scored I lost it to an extent where I was not in control of myself. The only time I've ever been anything like that was when Morley scored at Bradford. That reaction tells me that winning the cup meant more to me than beating utd in the semi.
