Maybe he needs to take a few pages off Tevez's book on evolving as an ageing striker. But skip the chapter on golf.
A great boxing film of yesteryear (streets of gold) has a line that I hope plays out 'there's room at the top for both of us'...
It wouldn't be a catastrophe but certainly a travesty, Kun deserves to leave this club as our all time greatest goal scorer, I'm not writing him off just yet but something feels off in terms of his future... Like I said, he's at his peak IMO, he should be embracing this and telling the kid 'this is how it's done'..
What is it with people wanting to write off our players as soon as they dip in form for whatever reason. Yaya was gone never to play again, Silva was finished nothing left in him, the list goes on Zaba, Kompany, Kolarov and now one of the best strikers in PL history is now no longer fit for purpose because a new kid is on the block. When we people learn?? If Pep is the genius we all think he is, we will get a fully fit and firing Sergio soon enough. Then some two pump chumps will be trying to fire their jizz back into their bollocks like they have with other players in the past.
What's your opinion on what I wrote about the results Paul? Surely 40 games missed and a higher points return indicates something? 7 missed this year and again we have a higher return. I think this system amplifies that even more. I'm not writing him off I just genuinely think we look better when he's not in and the results agree with me.
Ironically I think that poor decision was a direct result of GJ's great display that Kun was watching from the bench. He came on and wanted to show he could interchange with the rest of them, as well, but couldn't execute when he attempted it several times in his cameo. I think he can contribute in that way, mind, it just didn't come off for him in the short time he was on.There was one instance last night when the team was on a counter and Kun could've passed to an open Jesus on the right wing but instead chose to pass cross field right to the defender's feet. Pissed me off.
Pep has one hell of a dilemma on his hands because it's obvious that Kun isn't a fit for this system and Gabriel is perfect for it. I ran the numbers over a month ago and with a 170+ game sample size we had better results with Sergio out than with him in. After today that's 6 wins out of 7 when he doesn't start. Gabriel has played about 200 minutes and already notched two assists. Kun has 1 for the entire season! He's not versatile enough at all. He's a borderline liability to be honest. Some are hoping that he will turn it around like Yaya has but personally I don't see it. Yaya didn't have to completely reinvent his approach/skill set.
