Sergio Aguero - 2016/17 performances

You can't ban someone for not connecting with an elbow that wasn't thrown. Are all these people calling for a ban real City fans?
I don't think there's too many on here "calling" (your word) for a ban. A lot on here (myself included) are resigned to him getting a ban. That is a world away from actually calling/demanding/wanting (choose your own terminology) a ban for him. The momentum that has built up for giving him a ban has grown throughout today.

I think he injured his calf throwing the elbow. If you slow it down by x132 and watch it from a right angle you can clearly see him clenching his calf, fists and teeth as he swings a roundhouse elbow intentionally at Reid's windpipe. From what I can gather, the ban won't start until after the injury has subsided....and rightly so. Thug.

ive gone for the popcorn

Imagine if he scored ay the swamp and his goal celebration was to pretend to elbow other city players

BBC news- Manchester city are waiting to hear of a possible ban for Sergio Aguero after he elbowed a west ham player, the referee didn't APPEAR to see the incident and the FA are waiting for his report to be submitted
MOTD showed the ref close and looking straight at it,if he says no then he is lying

1- Nobody is 'calling for a ban'
2- An elbow was thrown
3- The fact it didn't connect is completely irrelevant. He lashed out needlessly out of frustration.
And 4 - We'll cope without him. Nacho is a special player.

Our only saving grace, as others have mentioned, is that the ref bizarrely seems to be looking right at it. I can only assume that somehow he's missed it as it was a definite red card offence.

If Aguero gets off ill be delighted but majorly surprised.

This is a ridiculous interpretation.

The truth is obviously that Aguero was preparing to - and crucially had formed the intention to - deliver a karate kick to Reid's head. Aguero then strained his calf whilst preparing the kick and had to settle for a mere elbow to the temple. A six month bad is about right, with points being docked for this game and all games in which Aguero scored before this game.

Anyone who says this is anything other than twice as bad as Ben Thatcher's forearm smash knows nothing about football.

Or Kung fu.

Strictly speaking it's violent conduct but I think most people would regard whether the opponent is hit or not as relevant. I'd say it should have been a yellow.

If you officiate by the book all the time then you would be disciplining a lot of players and we have already seen more premeditated acts than Agueros this season which have been ignored. You can't do it for some incidents and not others. The ref should either get to ref the game, or you do everything. This a kangaroo court by squealing frightened Man Utd fans
