Stupid thing for Aguero to do but had this happened in a game not on TV by a Bournmouth player, for example, would this have really made all these headlines. Staggered Marriner saw nothing, linesman saw nothing, not mentioned by the commentators during the game in real time.

Surely Marriner should have a week off missing such an incident causing such widespread dismay and anger?(in the media).

And you are suggesting that the rules say any incident where a hand or fist falls near someone's head (or chest in case of aguero's "assault") is a red card

And you don't find it strange that it's just aguero who is the target of an investigation, while any number of similar challenges (included one at exactly the same time, on aguero) go unpunished.
