BBC sportsday page using Sun reporter's tweet to fuel the witch hunt. Simon Stone rubbishing Joe's move on Radio5. Twats.
As I see it and supported by images available the referee had a clear line of vision of the incident. This was backed up by Keown on MOTD. HOW could Andre Marriner have not had all the evidence HE needed to rule on the incident? This being the case there will be a dangerous precedent set if the FA judge an offence (by either Aquero or Reid or both) took place.
Every future subsequent incident could be taken to the panel which essentially would be trial by post match video for all incidents whether seen or not seen by the officials.
There is no clear intent, no direct elbow, no head impact on Reid. In reality only Aquero knows whether he acted with intent. In the circumstances there is not clear evidence for a charge IMO.
Too many blues and rag infestations on this thread have been taken in by the media's sensational bias.
We wait for the legal watershed governance of the FA. City lawyers standing by.
