BBC sportsday page using Sun reporter's tweet to fuel the witch hunt. Simon Stone rubbishing Joe's move on Radio5. Twats.
As I see it and supported by images available the referee had a clear line of vision of the incident. This was backed up by Keown on MOTD. HOW could Andre Marriner have not had all the evidence HE needed to rule on the incident? This being the case there will be a dangerous precedent set if the FA judge an offence (by either Aquero or Reid or both) took place.
Every future subsequent incident could be taken to the panel which essentially would be trial by post match video for all incidents whether seen or not seen by the officials.
There is no clear intent, no direct elbow, no head impact on Reid. In reality only Aquero knows whether he acted with intent. In the circumstances there is not clear evidence for a charge IMO.
Too many blues and rag infestations on this thread have been taken in by the media's sensational bias.

We wait for the legal watershed governance of the FA. City lawyers standing by.

I thought the same actually,as good as he's been,I expect zlatan and Costa and their like to destory him, at this stage in his learning curve.if he had still been at the club I would have played mangala in those games
No. He was coming off anyway as he couldn't see from his left eye. That's my point.

Him coming off had nothing to do with the goal.

Why have none of Fellaini's 472 elbows been highlighted in this way? The media literally controls our sport. From deciding which teams are allowed to play each other in the Champions League to deciding which players should get banned. It's farcical.

They have bent the rules, well blatantly disregarded the rules, on most occasions when involving City. Be pleasently surprised if this is any different.

Remember Howard Webb claiming he didn't see Mario stepping on brave captain lovely hairstyle Scott Scotty Scott Parker's head despite looking straight at it as well. Also Clattenberg waving play on in the Adebayor/Van Persie "stamp" and then claiming he didn't see it.

Doubt there's a ref out there that doesn't lie on disciplinary things like this. Marriner clearly saw it, but if he thinks it deserves a retrospective punishment he has to lie about it.

Rules are there for the fa to change ANY decisions they see fit! Example referee clearly sees Aguero's incident, Fa asks him to have another look, he watches it and says I made mistake it didn't look that severe! Hey presto 3 game ban! Fa can manipulate any decision they want!

Van Persie liked using his elbows. He did Cabaye and got away with it after Webb said it didn't warrant a red after review.Webb also claimed he did not see the incident.Van Persie also did De Bruyne at Chelsea
