First time I remember this happening was years ago when Zabba got retrospectively done at Stoke. These so-called elite refs seem to make a habit of not seeing things they're staring directly at when it involves a City player.Remember Howard Webb claiming he didn't see Mario stepping on brave captain lovely hairstyle Scott Scotty Scott Parker's head despite looking straight at it as well. Also Clattenberg waving play on in the Adebayor/Van Persie "stamp" and then claiming he didn't see it.
Doubt there's a ref out there that doesn't lie on disciplinary things like this. Marriner clearly saw it, but if he thinks it deserves a retrospective punishment he has to lie about it.
