Now that Sergio as said he will be leaving in 2020. Will this shut up all the doom merchants saying City will sell this season. Because i'm fed up with sly news, bt and newspapers all keep trying to get City to sell him.

He will leave an absolute legend he will leave an absolute legend. Should be a statue outside the ground for him.

If anything I think its more likely that people will say that we will sell him this summer, rather than let him run down his contract and leave on a free transfer.

Let him go home on a free with our eternal thanks, don't need to flog him early for the sake of 20 million or so.
As for statues, if they haven't done one for Bert I don't think they'll do one for Sergio. Both iconic figures of course.

Of course he's going on a free, back to his roots. I wouldn't be surprised if he's still effective in 2020 and if so if we give him one more year and he accepts.

I think given his contribution during the "new" City age under the Sheikh, the club will very much want to create some iconography. Frankly I'd add VK and David Silva to a list of statues too, as Salfordian as that may seem.

I believe that Bert was sounded out regarding the suggestion within the City hierarchy about a statue but he didn't want it. Typical of the humility of the great man. I had always hoped that City would name a stand after him but I suppose that was also a no-no. It will be a sad day for us all when Sergio leaves. As you suggest we should let him run down his contract with our thanks.

Fair do's that, he wants to wind down owning another league, can't moan. I am just going to enjoy him for the rest of the time he has here.

Me, too. But will it stop the RagDipperArseHaringeyMeedya printing shite that he will leave next week, next month , season's end. I think not. And then who'll be the next target for a transfer? Kevin, Jesus, Leroy or Sterling? It'll never stop from the third rate Raggy hacks!

Based on his age that may well be the summer we wave Merlin off into the sunset too

Jesus there will be a lot of pollen in the air that day if these 2 legends leave at the same time
