Worked all over the UK as a Railwayman the people in Leeds is the same as everywhere else, the vast majority are decent hard working people just like in Manchester. As a City it has all the facilities you could possibly want with thriving business's and a very popular University. Leeds also has a rich history which I believe includes the Sciences which led to the discovery of DNA.
Yes they have rough areas such as Holbeck but you can't condem a whole City for the actions of a minority of idiots.
I loathe them as a football club and for the way the fans of the club behave but they don't represent Leeds.

I can say quite honestly it's not as bad as being made out. It's just Leeds United and Rhinos fans are absolute cockwombles for no reason...

They do seem to be in a semi permanent state of anger and in need of anger management therapy but one thing I'd say is that maybe this is quite widespread across the country for example I have geordie friends who told me that when they first came to Manchester they couldn'believe how relaxed everybody was. It had never really struck me until then.Maybe its us who are the chilled out ones.!

Hope the Blue who was attacked is OK.

Leeds are absolutely loathed in Sheffield by fans of both clubs. They are not that popular in Rotherham and Donny either to say the least - unlike Sheff, two towns with a lot of Leeds fans. I've heard several Wednesday and Blades fans say they hate Leeds even more than their City rivals.

Quite amusingly on Radio Sheffield's Football Heaven local phone in, there is a presenter on there who supports Rotherham who takes great pleasure in playing a commentary clip of him saying "AND LEEDS ARE GETTING SPANKED" which he did recently a few times and in anticipation of Saturday, which unfortunately was a non-spanking.

I don't hate Leeds as a place or the people who live there and won't judge it by a few idiots but I won't miss them as fans and their club. Much rather the Sheffield clubs Udders, Hull etc be up in the Prem. One day I'd like to think that Bradford City could make it too.

Pretty sure most clubs in the country hate Leeds. Often at Guiseley we get opposition fans singing we all hate Leeds scum thinking it will be offensive. Most of our support or at least 50% probably agree.

I forgot to comment about this on my other post, but hope the Blue is ok!

I worked on Lowfields Rd along side their shit oyle.

I found em all,including the wimmin, to be the most awkward,belligerent, argumentative, uncooperative, disagreeable, unsociable, small minded, backward bastards I’d ever come across.

Fucking Yaaarksherrr to their fucking marrow.

Fuck em all out of sight and sound and smell.

Bit of a blight on Yaarkshire, I'd say, like their backward cricket club.

Met many fine people from that county, some of whom are good friends (and my elderly Mum us from South Yorkshire!).

Lol. I started at Newton Heath on Thorpe road 16/06/1980 when workplaces had characters in them, also worked out of the Mayfield depot and Rail House and the Goeton Road depot, some real strange f*ckers lol.
Finished on 16/09/2011 and loved evry minute mate I really need to write a book some of the stories I have are unbelievable and so funny.

Plenty of ignorant belligerent racist bastards in Leeds and I don't envy you working on Lowfields Rd!

Memories of being penned in on the away section on the Lowfields in the 80s with their fucktards waiting outside and bricks flying over.

Also getting on a bus back to the station and the coppers saying "Duck" before the bus got showered with bricks etc. How lovely.
