Why is it only during holiday periods does this happen?

Just watched twelth night on bbc2 and remember king lear was on at easter, but seems that it is rarely on any other time.

Such a shame as they are not on more often and given more coverage to a modern audience

Always thought the above described modern TV shows quite well.

Macbeth was incredible. Polanski's film version was great!
 
Interestingly Shakespeare loved to sneak the word çunt into a lot of his plays as well as other offensive words.
In fact much ado about nothing title was considered to be about the comedy of errors in that caused a fuss amongst the players, where Nothing was actially Elizabethan slang for the vagina and he was being cheeky with the title
