I can't believe some on here are advocating playing a strong side! Please explain why this game is worth the risk and the added tiredness before the hardest game of the season. Because I must be missing something.

The bolded is a valid point but there's a world of difference between striving to go unbeaten all season and actually going unbeaten all season. What I think KDB was trying to say was if we pursue going unbeaten, it would count for nothing if in the process our title chances are hampered.

Your first point is a matter of opinion. But I would counter that is certainly one of the hardest.

The second point acknowledges that you are prepared to risk and tire out three first team sunday starters tonight for no reason whatsoever. This lessens our chances of success on Sunday. Players need rest this time of year during the busiest period.

Rest does not always lead to a better performance. We were so poor in the first half against West Ham but stepped it up. Considering the number of late goals I would suggest we still have plenty of energy, it is starting games well where we are losing form. As long as Kompany, Delph, Silva and De Bruyne are rested I am not concerned.

You risk injury in training. The unbeaten run needs to continue. Losing it before united would be a mental blow for the players even if it is a dead rubber. We need to win if at all possible. Pep will make changes of course but some players might need a run out to find more form. I would like to see Aguero play again as he has not been anywhere near his usual standards recently.

pep is not stupid, he'll play weakened side, but it will still have some players that might play at weekend too. You can't just send EDS there.

You could send a strong second team and supplement it with eds players and then not risk a single first team player.

United deffo won't be the hardest game this season, however, they are our nearest rivals atm. Get a positive result against them & watch the rag meltdown.
