Shawcross is not shit at football. Decent Premier League defender, pretty much on Lescott level as much as I don't like to see Lescott losing his place at City few months after he celebrated a title as integral part of best defense in the league.

No nonsense CB, who has been great this season.
It's clear Mancini doesn't fancy Lescott anymore, and at 25 Shawcross is at a good age to come in and compete for a place.
I thought United had first refusal on him, or something like that! It was part of the deal that took him to Stoke from United, I believe.
 
Shawcross is a great player,is man of the match most games.stoke are unbeaten at home,with one of the best defensive records in the prem.this is mainly down to him. Get him in and play vinnie as the holding midfielder we need.be perfect.big strong players all over the park.

Agree with this apart from moving vinny! Komps is world class at the back, no doubt the job he could do as a dm but he without question is now settled as a world class cb.
 
This would make sense if our summer shopping had proven fruitful. We need players who will genuinely contend with the mainstays of the team. Not sure Shawcross would have stemmed the tide in any of the CL games.
 
Squad player ..........and we know what happens when we buy those. Why would we bang on about ball playing centre halves then sign Shawcross? Can't see it.

I still feel though that with kolo (till summer) the emergence of rekik and the return of richards we don't need another center back even if joleon leaves.

I particularly like the way he uses his elbow to stop player's faces. If only Lescott had done shit like that, we may have won the league with him playing at centre back.

I think City should sign Shawcross & Walcott. Then let Lescott & Balotelli go.

anyone remember when he came on for his debut for england against sweden?

i know it was only like thirty minutes, but he looked well out of his depth at the top level.

will he be another player who is in a comfort zone playing mid-table and who would take ages to bed in at a top four club?

i personally think we can do better than shawcross if we are looking for another centeral defender.
