Kevin Blackwell allows Sun Jihai to return home

SHEFFIELD United manager Kevin Blackwell has allowed former Manchester City defender Sun Jihai to return to his native China.
Although Sun, 31, made a positive start to his career with the Blades last season, his first team opportunities were limited after the emergence of youngster Kyle Naughton.

Blackwell said: "We have allowed Sun to move back to China. Although his mum was over here, he missed his family greatly and wanted his kids to be schooled over there.

"The situation made him slightly uncomfortable so I didn't want to keep him like that. He is a great professional and a good lad who taught the young lads quite a lot and we wish him all the best."

i thought he was alright. i remembered his long drive from 40 yards out that hit the sidepost. that shot, if successful could have made him a tad more super.

all the best to him.

I actually had time for sunny. He always gave his all, Granted he was bobbins but cant fault his effort. I remember when we played Everton. They had someone from china also (Name escapes me) it did at the time have the biggest television audiance for a premier league match. They were up in the early hours to watch it in China

Lol at all of this. But can't deny Sun Jihai loved City. To an extent loads of City fans love him only because of his commitment.

I still remember that own goal he scored at Coms a while back when boro never had a shot on target and he scored for them to make it 0-1, they won that game as well.

Comical now i look back at it.

I loved Sunji's work-rate. Always gave his all. Especially for his TV audience!
