Sheffield United (H) - Post-Match Thread

I'm assuming that, although Pep will almost definitely have the team in for training tomorrow, it'll be a relatively light session given the ridiculous schedule at the moment (3 games in under 6 days).
 
Dogshit first half and lucky not to go in 1 or 2 down.

much better second half. The tactical tweak worked well. Still vulnerable at the back though. Free header at 90 mins when we really should just be seeing the game out.

Sheff Utd played well and I can see why they are where they are. If they had a clinical striker they would have scored today. Fans were loud too.
 
Raz is not hiding, or holding back, just seems distracted. Not a patch on his best performances. " Going through the motions " "lost his mojo" (whatever that means), maybe needs a break, not physically but mentally......3 pts tfft......

If we get the right players either side of him it can be very effective especially with his passing into midfield but it was only 45 mins and it changes the midfield dynamic. Not sure Pep will give it enough of a chance but it would seem stubborn not to give it a go. We all know the defence is an issue but it can’t be any worse than the back 4 we have been playing with. We looked more solid which must be a plus as it hasn’t been tried much. I would put walker in though but that would depend on Cancelo getting off Shergar and coming back from the Bermuda Triangle.
 
Just sitting here watching the 2nd half back. That tactical switch is just pure genius, gave us so many options in the middle while stretching the pitch with the fullbacks.

Its easy to forget just how f*cking good pep is lol especially so soon after one of the rare games he got it wrong.

Wonder if we will see the 3421 more often
 
Not so bad. A bit lethargic in the first half but much improved in the 2nd. Credit to the boss for that change in shape.

Thought Garcia played well and is quite telling for Otamendi, that he can't get a game when a 34 year old has played twice in less than 48 hours. No doubt he'll be shipped in the summer.

Need to get our better players back, focus on 2nd and the cups. If we can salvage a couple trophies that would be nice, given how far we have been away from our standards this season.
