Indeed. There's so many people going from hotel to hotel; even if you checked the bags of people checking in, how would you prevent the someone bringing a weapon in later?

Scan the bags at check in. Happens out here. Wouldn’t get an assault rifle into a hotel.
Can easily pull out a rifle before the scan check in at the hotel
And where does it end ...
Scan bag before you get on a Train ? Into a Pub ? Into McDonald's ?

It's unconfirmed because people appear to be mixing him up with her ex-husband, in some cases deliberately I would say.I have seen lots of stuff on social media but as of yet that speculation is unconfirmed as I pointed out.

It's now being reported he had 8 guns, 2 platforms and cameras set up to see police coming. Apparently with all the firing he was doing, it set off the smoke alarms in the room and that's how police knew where he was located.

Oh man that is a huge number considering the time scale and it being just one fella. A lot of these will be bullet wounds, in america recovery from a gunshot can bankrupt you even with insurance and all that stuff. Those with bad gunshot wounds have a long road to recovery ahead in many ways. I wish them a fast and full recovery.406 injured

It's just impossible, for me, to understand what motivates someone to do something like that (i.e. murder loads of innocents in the pretty certain knowledge the police will take you out permanently).
I presume the guy had a death wish, despite these apparent precautions.
If only it were that simple. I wish guns were banned but it will never happen in America, too many people getting rich and fat off the industry. Apparently the hotels don't even have metal

I know, it was more of a tongue-in-cheek comment. I live in the US and i have friends who have full closets of war guns. I am fine if you want to have a gun in your home for protection, but what the fuck you need 5+ war guns in your home for. The damage has been done long time ago, the circulation of these war guns is immense and this will be just another useless debate about war guns in the US.
The metal detector will be just useless and it wont accomplish anything. The scumbag murderer would have just left all of his shit in the car before going on a killing spree.

It's a never-ending road. The only way to prevent these sort of things is stricter gunlaws/control, biometric safety on the guns and traceable ammo.Or even more high tech solutions.
However America seems devoid of logic with regards to their precious guns, so instead they have semi-automatic weapons and ammo being flogged over the counter at fkin walmart.
It's really a surprise these sort of things don't happen more often.
