Should City Follow West Ham and Reduce Season Ticket Prices

Maybe so but I reckon we will have a least 4000-5000 more on average than this season for 19 matches. That is £3m or so more income from an FFP perspective with no outlay (FFP)

Increasing income is the priority to the club, that is clear to see so even if we don't sell out and get the usual "emptihad" banter, the accountants will be happy!

It will pay for our split of yaya's wages when he is playin for inter if nothing else!!

Ridiculous premiss of course they shouldn't reduce prices we are already miles behind our rivals in match day revenue.

As people drop out because of cost other people with more money will take their place that is modern football like it or lump it

The fans want the best players and unfortunately they cost and with FFP hanging over us like the Sword of Damocles we need to drive up match day revenue not reduce them

So how much extra are you chipping in next season?

I See Bayern Munich are having another poor season despite not havingvticket price hikes!

I will be paying what ever price the club set how about you?

But I still think the club have quite a bit of wiggle room we need to rise match day revenues per head we have some the cheapest tickets in the league we need to be on a par with our top four rivals

It's a business end of.

It is, but like all businesses it needs to make sure it's prices remain competitive but more importantly the product is never compromised in terms of quality. This season the football has been very very average. Newer fans will only pay for that for so long before they lose interest.

It happened between 2003 and 2008 when we lost 10,000 on out gate due to the product not being good enough for the price paid.

That is why I cannot see this manager and some of these players being here next season as the risk is too high.

The fans need a feel good summer with decent signings and I think we will get it this summer for the first time since 2011.

£1,225 mate.

OK if it's a business then it's one that needs to up to up its game. A season card holder in 206 told me that he would have paid the £1,750 if the Club had bothered to phone him to explain the reasons for the price increases. Instead he will be spending between £300 and £600 in another part of the ground.

One things for sure is that we won't be paying for Yaya to play for another Club. In the last 12 months Yaya's struggled with injury at the World Cup and ACON and his brother died. There are clubs who would love to have a tested Yaya in their side come August.

Re: Should City Follow West Ham and Reduce Season Ticket Pri

The empty seats against Villa need to tell everyone at City all the need to know. City fans won't pay £50+ for a match ticket for a end of season CL/relegation decider. Price the season tickets/matchday tickets correctly and those empty seats will be filled., regardless of the fixture.

9500 City fans on the waitng list and we couldn't sell out yesterday, even with a limited capacity of 45,000 due to the redevelopment works.

Unless it happened late in the day, neither Villa or West Ham sold out (although it wasn't too far off by the looks of it). We used to sell out pretty much EVERY league game, regardless of circumstances in 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014. I think there was a run of 2 full seasons where only 1 game didn't sell out. Now 2 in a week AND with a reduced capacity? Prices for general ticket sales are too high, though City may have assumed there would be a title race.

The last 3 games this year are £8 cheaper than for the last 2 or 3 seasons, but I'm not sure it's less City fans that are going but it is becoming a very regular occurrence for the away fans to return the upper tier blocks which then have to be filled
A price reduction for match day would help, but reducing prices for away fans would help even more. .

Exactly!

Matchday ticket prices should be fluid. They should mirror our curent circumstances. 1-2 weeks notice, the league position, the teams performance, and most importantly the opposition should dictate the the price of matchday tickets. Season tickets are already paid for, so there's nothing the club can do about them and no-shows. However, taking everything into consideration, the correct pricing of matchday tickets would have a massive impact on ticket sales, the attendance, and empty seats.

Put it this way. If you were Sheikh Mansour and you were watching the Villa game, would you want to know why there were so many empty seats at the Etihad against Villa, etc? As the owmer I would be fuming, especially with 9500 City fans on the waiting list. An empty seat makes nothing. A full seats makes £20-£35.(just thinking of a price, along with food and drink sales) You do the maths.
