Should Class A drugs be legalised in UK

No, they go to a clinic and are given their heroin for nothing! We also save a fortune doing it that way, reduce crime and offer help to the poor side addicted to the shite.

Is the correct answer. You can't eradicate drugs so make them available and decriminalise them. It also stops all the drugs gangs shootings and stabbings. Not completely of course but it should vastly reduce them and ease the burden on prisons.

For new users as well, or just existing users?
Yeah, treat it like they do gambling advertising at half time on the footy but make sure they also say when the fun stops too. Soon as you can get it injected for free from a specialist me and my mates will be all over it. Pubs will be empty on a Saturday night as all the general public realise heroin is a great idea.

Thank God it’s illegal though so the man in the street currently knows it’s a bad move.

This is why I think they should be free on NHS. so that the help can be targeted to those really in need and things can be controlled correctly. It also removes the need for these users to mug people for there next fix.
I think this is a very good idea in principle but I think implementing something like this would be impractical on both ends.

Couldn't agree more mate. Thought I was crazy reading some replies. Personally, I think it's bad enough we have one mind-altering substance (alcohol) be so readily available to so many irresponsible people. So much violence comes through alcohol use but combine that with drugs and you just get fucking idiots everywhere.

Not to mention how cripplingly addictive class A drugs can be compared to alcohol. Legalisation provides a strong psychological suggestion that taking drugs is perfectly fine which would encourage much more of the populace to experiment. Do we really need a whole new demographic of people addicted to a substance that completely takes over their lives?

I can't believe we're considering it at all. Much more worthwhile to strive to become a society that actually solves the issues leading people down a path where they feel the need to take mind-bending chemicals to help give their lives meaning or escape reality.
Reading some of the replies I'm curious as to what kind of experiences people here have had with class A drugs beyond coke and shitty quality ecstasy, maybe a bit of acid too. Whether that be themselves or people close to them.

No but it means far more people than currently are going to go out and use them.

The current number of users is a happy middle ground as far as I'm concerned.
But tens of thousands of of people are victims of ,burglaries, muggings ,stabbings, shootings each year so addicts can fund there habits & many thousands have also turned to prostitution to feed there habit and far to many people die to young or end up behind bars
The War on Drugs is lost
We spend billions trying to enforce the unenforceable
Surley there is a better option

Do you mean taking them or knowing people who’ve taken them?
Not sure what your point is.
Heroin is the only thing that should be 100% dealt with as a danger to society and never be made legal.
