For me, this is pompus. In my opinion honouring that Foe would never return to City, by retiring 23 was a great move. Full of love and respect overall and for those who grew up in the years after, it keeps his name alive. Not forgotten. To enter the league of Legends, in the true sense of the word, is enough. Retiring a number is silly. Build a statue or name a stand after someone. I still demand a Book End! There are many greats from eras gone by that deserve it more. Yaya has been a great servant and has been part of a great era but off the field that copybook has too many blotches.
