He hasn't looked very effective so far. I respect his religious beliefs, it's just that it makes little sense to send a man on the pitch when he hasn't had liquids all day. And we'll need all our midfielders to do a LOT of running against Spurs.

No.

He hasnt looked 'effective' because he's played in a deeper role due to NdJ injury.

He dropped back against swansea and played the holding role yesterday.

Nothing to do with Ramadan.

Maybe you should examine him a little further. You're not seeing the same Yaya because he's playing a different position. HOWEVER, he's been instrumental to our build up with his passing.

You just want to see him score and go into the box all the time. -.-

If NdJ is fit for Spuds, I think we will see YaYa back to his box-to-box rôle.
In principle I agree but who would you drop Milner or Gaz Baz who have played their best ever games for us in the last macth?

Yeah we're not getting the best of him, but he's still very effective for the team in a deeper role. His passing is accurate and doesn't get shrugged off the ball, his quick feet also means I get confident that he won't lose the ball. He's doing alright for me!

Have you rang him and asked if he's fasting then?

Muslims can choose to make a payment to charity in leiu of fasting and can also "bank" it and fast at another time. (info provided by Safraz who sits next to me at work.)

let me get this right. as an act of faith and devotion to your religion you "fast" aka starve during the day to appreicate the poor who have nothing. but if you cant be arsed you can pay money and everything is ok?

fucking religion is a joke!!!!

that is not correct. you can not pay some money instead of fasting. there are several rules that regulates fasting. you can google it, and none of them says that if you are healthy enough to fast, not working under extreme conditions, that you could still find your way out of it. plus, there is much more to fasting then pure sustaining from food and drinks. it is a devoted act that requires mental strength and focus to keep it proper...

anyways, google it! it is a much more reliable source then some Safraz (no offence)

If Nige is fit then i'd drop Yaya and keep Milner in the side because hes looked a lot sharper and Yaya as we know can take time to get going so giving him a weekend off wont hinder us or him. I cant see Mancini dropping him but Milner had his best game in a blue shirt on Sunday and looking at the Spuds midfield tonight he'd have a field day up against Livermore.

he's been doing fine, yeah he's not the shining star at the moment but different players peak during different parts of the season.

Besides his best performances were before christmas and before the end of the season, so it shows that getting a good run of games helps him reach his peak, plus his physical presence is needed against Spurs.

94% successful pass rate at Bolton- can't be doing too much wrong.

He didn't do that many passes though and vs swans he was awful in the 1st half.

Never really rated him anyway, last season he only had about 13 good games the rest he was average or a bit below. He is overrated quite a bit, but he will always be thought of highly due to his 2 goals in the FA cup finals

lol wut. As an Arsenal fan watching as a neutral he is an immense player you city.

How do you even know Yaya's fasting? You're quick to jump on yaya's performances during ramadan but don't forget we have another muslim who's been playing better than ever, Edin Dzeko! No mention of him. What would u say if u found out Dzeko was observing the fast during games?
