Oh Manchester, is wonderful....
Hypothetically, we end up buying;

Barry from Villa
Lescott from Everton
Tevez from Rags
Alonso from Liverpool

Very shrewd business on Citys part when you think about it, weakening the teams who will surely be 'around us', while strengthening our own.

No coincidence I'm sure.

Depends what we pay (bar Tevez). Barry was a great signing and Villa will really struggle to replace him for £12 million, but if we offer a daft amount (anything above £12 million IMO) for Lescott, Moyes will be able to replace and improve his squad with that money

True, but Im banking on the fact that these are Prem proven players. You could get replacements in from abroad, but theres no guarantees they will adapt to the pace immediately, and Prem proven players of this caliber arent easy to find.

Going to be a very interesting Summer :)

Yea but I'd like to think with the funds available to us we can buy top players form abroad (not necessarily superstars) who will come in and be better than the likes of lescott. One of the pro's in having HUghes in charge is that ehw knows the prem very well and what is required of prem players, so he should know which players will be suited to the prem game. I mean, anyone could simply pay top dollar for players who are already proven over here, couldn't they?

I've no qualms with Barry (great price) and wouldn't have too many with Tevez, but paying over the odds for players like lescott who I wouldn't put down as a top player isn't great and IO'm sure we could get better palyers in from elsewhere

It's obvious now that Hughes has 100% control of transfer targets...no Galacticos, just quality prem-proven players on the way...it's English clubs that are dominating the Champions league so why look further than that??

I have seen it all before with the rags, Baconface unfortunately is as shrewd as they come, they managed to replace RVN, C@ntona, Beckham no doubt they replace Trannie and Tevez and a whole host of others I wouldn't go writing them off just yet, neither will i be getting complacent at the thought of top 4, feet need to be firmly on the ground so to speak, if we buy all these players we will still need time for them to gel as a team. I seem to remember we got a bit giddy at the end of transfer window when we signed Robbie, and again top 4 was being bandied about as though all we had to do was turn up.
