As most of you are all aware, for several years now, Man City fans have had a close connection with Sierra Leone and in particular one Armani Kamara.
City fans have been donating shirts, money and all sorts to help the guys out in Sierra Leone. Now there's a Manchester City Sierra Leone team out there. To help the team get to away games, there was a fundraising effort to send a minibus out to Sierra Leone. This minibus not only transports the football team, it's got a contract with the UN to drive people to UN-related jobs/schemes so it's actually generating jobs for local people.
Sadly though, the whole area is obviously hit by Ebola. Here's an article about how City fans and the minibus are now involved:
<a class="postlink" href="http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-29672233" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-29672233</a>
The Manchester City Sierra Leone team doctor Alie Turay recently died of Ebola. He went from looking after the players to looking after Ebola patients.
Now supplies are being sent over to Sierra Leone and will be distributed via the minibus.
I think it's a great story showing what City fans can do to help people who really, really need help.
So if anyone can help donate money to do what we can to help not only the City fans/team in Sierra Leone, but the people of Sierra Leone, here's how to help:
