Why do we never use the loan system? Unless I’m mistaken the last time we signed a player on loan was 2011/12 season, David Pizzaro

Who, over the past decade, do you think we should have signed on loan? Or to make it more current, who would be available to us now on loan that would solve some of the issues we have?

Paulinha Spurs picked up on loan would definitely have given our midfield some steel and energy while Rodri gets up to speed.
Feel like deals like this are different for teams. Bayern want to sell Paulinha and if we asked they’d just want us to pay. Spurs won’t pay upfront so it’s a loan and they might get a fee out of them.

Just find it strange we never use the loan system, how many other clubs have gone 13 years without signing someone on loan. Seems quite popular these days the loan with option/obligation to buy

players who are available on loan are not on the required level or does not suit our system
The player who suits us are usually only available if we buy them
and also club has not be so desperate to sign a player on loan

Need to be a bit of a perfect storm for us to get a loan player.

A previous high level RB who was not performing to standard in their current team, high wages so no-one wants to buy, too bigger profile leaving out of team would be problematic and current team wants to play someone else.

Then I think we would be, but not sure it happens.

Rashford at Barca is probably the biggest profile loan and he probably fits a lot of the above.

So every other club who have signed a player on loan in the last 13 years is run poorly?

What a stupid fucking comment to make

We’ve been among the best clubs in world football in that time frame, had the centurions season and won the treble so yeah clubs that are looking to bring loan players in are certainly run more poorly than us. We have a long term vision and short term players don’t fit into that.

Loans are usually used to get rid of deadweight that the selling club can’t shift permanently and want the wages off the books. Or buying clubs who don’t have money to buy a player outright or need to shuffle finances for PSR would look into loaning players. So anyone using a bit of common sense would suggest it’s fucking stupid for a club like City to bring in loan players, and perhaps answers your question as to why we haven’t brought anybody in on loan in such a long time.

Severe lack of critical thinking in the transfer forum.

Give us a name you want us to loan in and you will immediately see why it doesn't happen.

Come on, it's your turn.

I’ve put above my theory on loans and why they do not suit City and the only player that could even potentially work at a loan is Rodrygo.

This is based on my theory Real want rid with his high wages etc.

Everyone has been mentioned in the PL to try and encourage buyers and no-one is going for it, I don’t think anyone considers him to be worth the wage/ transfer fee.

So if we sell Savio and don’t buy, no one buys Rodrygo (which I think is pretty clear now) and January comes round and he is even further out of favour at Madrid, does a loan work to try and put him in the shop window for Madrid and City try before you buy.
