Silva better without Nasri?

Now before you come charging in here guns blazing- no this isn't a slag Nasri off thread.

Just an observation of mine but I feel Silva plays his best football without Nasri in the team. Silva's dip in form coincided with Nasri getting a prolonged run in the team and today he was outstanding, everything went through him and he was like the Silva we all know and love. I don't know if it's because they both make the same sort of runs or if Nasri gets in his way or whatever but Silva seems to be far more influential on the game when Nasri is on the bench.

Of course Silva could just have been going through a bad patch and Nasri had nothing to do with it but just my take on things anyway.

Silva plays his best football with Yaya in the team, however,Nasri also provides an added dimension to our attack which was somewhat missing today.

dont think you can pin it on nasri, just think it was a dip in form pretty much like the team, all to come good from now we have finished our adversity spell (thanks chris foy who had another shocker yesterday) onwards and upwards

I agree silva plays best when YaYa is in the team.

Don't think it's Nasri's fault but more the usual 4-4-2/4-2-2-2 formation this season which requires Silva to be a lot more disciplined with his positioning and track back more. I don't think it suits him as much as playing in a front 3 like he was last season or behind the striker like today.

This. Silva and Yaya come as a pairing as far as I'm concerned. There was still a point against Fulham where we had 4 or 5 guys bumping into each other in the centre of the field all trying to bloody cross over or some shit. I was looking at it aghast wondering where the hell the shape and leadership was. It's currently about to play Zambia in the ACON final.

I like him just behind the striker but I think what also helped was aj and milner staying out wide spreading the defense leaving silva plenty of space

Silva had a good game today due partly to his own high standards and the fact that Villa played three strikers and Albrightson which allowed space between there back four and the midfield which Silva exploited..

Silva and Nasri are both cracking players with or without each other. I find it amazing people constantly make these connections with nearly every variation in the team.

I await the "we look better with De Jong as we kept a clean sheet thread".
