As with all of Sky's coverage, I had the TV on mute for Saturday's game - I find that it improves my enjoyment considerably. I switched-off the post match analysis on the basis that it was unlikely to add any additional insight into the game.
I saw the comments on BM and elsewhere about Mike Summerbee's post match comments and although I hadn't seen them, I feared the worst knowing that he gets well fired-up about all things City!
Having waited until things were a little calmer I checked-out the recording on You Tube this morning.
Well to be honest I was totally shocked.
Shocked that any self-respecting City supporter would align themselves with the sad, disrespectful dillusionals that have attacked a man who is a City statesman and genuine legend as being "bitter".
After a not untypical post match reaction lacking in both balance and accuracy (he was rightly incredulous at the preposterous ravings of Redknapp, claiming Nani to be potentially one of the world greats). This was a 68 year-old man who, when faced with 3 salivating Sky sycophants, did nothing more than try and inject a sense of balance and realism into proceedings and to stick-up for his Club. We would expect nothing less given that he is a genuine City man, and those that have attacked him for it really should be ashamed.
