Sky HD

I was sceptical but having had it for 12 months I don't regret it - everything is better in HD especially sport

I remember you being very reluctant to take the plunge. You were very anti LCD/Plasma tv's IIRC.

no broadcaster in europe broadcast anything in 1080p (progressive). all hd broadcasts are in 1080i (interlaced). you will only need a 1080p tv for blu ray.

You must be getting confused mate - there's no such yellow marks on Sky's EPG.

You need to enable it in the HD settings on the box. I have it switched on - on mine.

Don't fall for this 100hz and 200hz crap, it doesn't guarantee you a great picture like a 10mp camera doesn't either. If your looking for an amazing picture at a budget, try the Samsung 5 series. I am well chuffed with mine. The Sky HD box has made a massive difference too...Watching football in standard definition is like having vaseline smeared over the screen now!

Sky do broadcast programs on HD channels that are Standard Definition (SD) and the software in the STB upscales it. Which is visably inferior to true HD, Sky let you know by highlighting the programs that are true HD in yellow on the EPG.

No mate you need to turn the option to "on".

Does anyone know the true waiting time from order?

I believe SKY will tell me what I want to hear but reality may well be different.

correct Stony I was but after due research I took the plunge and haven't looked back since!!!

I now have a 42" Sony LCD TV and Sky HD Box and don't regret it for a minute

I admit to being wrong!!!

Totally agree that HD id the business.

I can't believe the difference in the football, especially with ITV, the standard definition is so poor in comparison you have to see it to believe it.

lol @ some folks saying they can't tell the difference. Either you don't have an HDTV or you are blind.

It's worth every penny. Watching a regular SD broadcast of a football match is somewhat painful now. Akin to going back to black and white after you have just seen colour.

Go to Options > Customise

When you go to the planner the HD programmes are coloured in orange rather than white
