Hello all,

A long shot, but worth a try. Any people here got one of these bad boys (it's the white router, not the black ones) that's gathering dust in a cupboard then let me know, i'm after one.

Cheers!

Why?

The Sky ones have your username and password embedded in them, so in theory it would be useless from another landline unless you flashed the thing.

Thats true quiet riot, that's why i want to flash the thing so it will work on my ISP. Good reviews about them, better than the shit one they sent me that overheats and is just a circuit board showing in the bottom half of the casing at the moment :-) Disconnects are down at least but bollocksed if a cuppa goes over it :p

Get hold of a Buffalo WHRG54S (but the ADSL version of this, don't know what it's called exactly) they are unbelievably reliable, top rated router by Sony and Nintendo from what I can tell, we have had no problems, incredibly secure and no lag even with four computers connected at once.

I installed one of them for a friend's son's Xbox LIVE recently, was pleasantly surprised at the coverage.

Another vote for Buffalo here.

By the way, don't buy Belkin under any circumstances.

Belkin is like Veron was; overpriced and fairly useless. Expected a lot more than what it ended up doing.

I've ordered one of those Buffalos for £30 posted from Play.com so thanks for the heads up all. A lot of good words for it wherever i went on researching the product.

...and you are right about the Belkin mate, my mate got one for £40 and it is a pile of turd. Gets mad hot, regularly has to use the reset mode and set up his port forwarding etc all over again, and the connection it holds is as stable as Ozzy Osbourne holding a pool cue.

Yeah Buffalo has been very reliable, Belkin had to send us 3 replacement routers when we were with them so we got rid after that, they often just decided to shut themselves off.
