There would have been a reasonable train service, car ownership was much lower and there were no M-ways. Yes I'm fairly sure @Gary James mentions in his book that both teams travelled back on the same train.

I'm pretty certain I did say that about the train but I can't remember which book I wrote it in. I do know that while City travelled to Plymouth United played Bolton!

I can definitely see at 12:00 & 14:00 happening. Not sure on the rules of televised 15:00 even on a Sunday.

I reckon the first game will be 11:30, which they've already done that this season.
