Slip Sliding Away

I've noticed in the last few home games and particularly yesterday many of our players slipping on their arses at crucial points in the game. It seems to happen with monotonous regularity to Sergio and Silva. Is it their boots or do we water the pitch too much?

In the last two home games I've never seen the sprinklers on so much pre-game and half-time. The ball bounces and water comes up as well. Silva slid in for a tackle against West Ham and water went right over his head.

Players like a wet pitch.

It's the shit Nike boots that they wear. Same was happening with the Kids last Monday night, what boots were they wearing? Nike.

EDIT: I know Silva wears Addidas, but the majority of players who slip I find are wearing Nike.

Are they studs or blades

This is not new

Aguero particularly vulnerable to it as he is so powerful.

More incompetence. But it benefited us yesterday - opening goal I thought could be put down to the surface

It happened to Aguero, Fernando, Silva and Milner yesterday that I can recall. I assume most players wear those moulded blades now but I don't believe they offer as much grip as studs although the pitch did seem over-watered in patches.

Makes no difference these days from what I hear. The boots are designed for speed and to prevent the boots from getting rooted so as to not cause injury. The way I see players slip though it can only lead to injuries in my view. A view which has never been close to a design and development studio of football boots but I couldn't give a fuck because if boots are going to cost so much how hard can it be to design a boot that keeps a player on his fucking feet.

Nike obviously gave bad advice on which boot to wear after water put on the pitch during warm up and start of game the other boot manufacture,s apart from Silva and Agueros were correct I'm not sure which manufacture the Villa players where wearing but they were on their arses to

I personally blame the sprinkler man for putting to much water on the pitch

I'm sure Nike can afford the phone call to City to request the sprinkler is kept off.

Players like a wet pitch, that's why the sprinklers at City go on even at half time when there is no water available in the ground due to a burst pipe in the area when we played West Brom.

Yep, we can get enough water on the pitch to float an ark but we have yet to master the challenge of getting enough water up to the bogs in CB3 to get the taps to work!

Yep, I blame level 2.

Aguero - puma

Not a watertight case since two of the three players slipping most (Silva and Aguero) don't wear Nike. I'm
Not sure what Fernando wears?

Groundsman misjudged the weather over-watering the pitch pre match.
A cold front went over just before the match and the temperature dropped 2 to 3 degrees. So less evaporation.
No (or very little) watering at half time so it was much better in the second half.
