Coming off a very good season, free too. Would make sense but we must look to future rather than here and now. Would be a great signing for a year but imo the squad place should be used on youth stepping up I.e Suarez.

Could be a vieira type signing, he is still a very classy player too.

I know it was Soccer Aid but Clarence looked like he has certainly not lost it, great feet if a little off the pace. Not that pace Is everything if you are in the right place at the right time....

All we have done since Scholes came out of retirement is take the piss. And now people want us to sign Seedorf?

Tidy signing on a free. Vieira esque. Closing down games and bringing the younger guys on with his experience & know how. The man has presence.
What younger guys are these? Nasri, Toure, Silva, Barry? Our team does not need cool heads. We won the League in the most pressurised of circumstances possible

Might have been good 2 seasons ago

You dont seem able to follow basic concepts Marvin mate! Where did I mention cool heads???

I said he can 'bring younger guys on' and by that I meant use his experience (he's 36 so a lot older the lads you referenced) to improve them (in many areas) as players and as men. He's an extremely experienced player winning the CL 4 times with 3 clubs, has played for AC, Inter, Real, Ajax and Sampdoria and was a dutch international for 14 years.

The man could improve anyone. He doesn't have to be playing every game, he could be used in the Viera role.
great post, I agree.

He's exactly the kind player we need in a dressing room, someone in the mold of Patrick Viera, and Seedorf tick all the boxes. Very professional footballer, extremely experienced, highly rated and is a well-respected role model.

we already have nasri, silva, toure, barry and de jong why do we need him
not forgetting Jimmy Milner (or maybe you did?)
But Nasri and Silva are inside forwards (remember that term) rather than midfielders.

the list was not Nasri and Silva, it was nasri, silva, toure, barry and de jong - hence my comment

Sneijder, Seedorf doesn't play for the national team sadly. Got a kick on the shin, no diagnosis yet maybe nothing maybe longterm.

So you honestly think that Yaya, De Jong, Barry and not forgetting Milner can play 50 plus games all season? We need midfield support.

i`d love to sign sneijder just to watch the rag fans joyeus reaction!! add to the fact the boy can play also helps.

I suspect they now see him as so last year and are pleased they dodged a bullet.

Considering only 2 play at a time, yes. Easy.

Can´t believe people want us to sign him, smfh! It seems when people hear a big name they assume he´s the player he where a few years ago, for your information he´s not. He´s 27 years old, injury prone and woulden´t handle the physicality of the PL. I know people said the same thing about Silva, he´s not as good as him. He would be expensive, be on high wages and would probably demand to play. And where would he play? Not in a 4-4-2 I assure you, he don´t have the legs for it. Who would he replace? We don´t unhappy people sitting on the bench, seeing we already have a few.
This thread is making me fucking depressed....

-- Thu May 31, 2012 11:37 pm --

A few grammatic errors but you get the point.

Yaya could be out at ACON or he culd get injured or if we could get a top top midfield player an Alonso chap we could push Yaya forward more often which i think is his best position anyway

There needs to be a sticky where things like "Yaya is not going to ACON next year" can be posted so people don't have to keep repeating it over and over again.

He has'nt confirmed that mate, he was questioning wether he should but I think it was a heat of the moment quote due to the dissapointment of losing the final.

I still expect him to go mate.

sneijder is easily one of the best midfielders in the world, his passing ability is easily on a par with xavi. He is also very good at shooting. Who wouldn't want him?

I agree and think that adding Sneijder's ability and experience to our team would be great. A midfield consisting of Yaya, Sneijder, Nasri & Silva would be quality

Not really,no - since we dont play 4-4-2-1........................so,does that mean he would fit in and your essay was a waste of time?
