Anybody been watching this series, what's your verdict on Alex Higgins ( blue I think), never realised what an absolute fruit loop he was. Was only a youngster when he won his first world championship, but what a character, pissed as fuck when playing Ray Reardon in a final, lol

Yeah it’s my third favourite sport, snooker. Good watch that first episode.

I wasn’t born until 1982 so didn’t know much about his playing days. But didn’t Higgins live in Altrincham?

Yeah he did. He was in the Grey Horse in Didsbury Village when I was in there. He was on the pool table pissed as a newt. Tried to get a game with him, but it was chaos.

I remember watching the White v Higgins semi final in 1982. Have a look on YouTube at the incredible 69 Higgins break in last 2 frames. Higgins can't miss or he loses and he pots the blue that is widely regarded as the best shot ever.

After that match I loved watching Jimmy White.

Amazing clearance by Higgins, some ridiculous pots along the way

Don't think he was a blue, at least I've never heard it.

Shocking positional play and pockets like buckets. Still a great break though.
With his technique he would struggle to make top 50 in the world in today’s game.
