Ladies and Gentleman it is now somewhere in the region of 65 hours until the biggest game many of us will have experienced.

There are some threads doubting whether we will get a result.

There are some threads building the tension.

There are blind faith threads not wanting to see anything other than a win.

This thread though is to ask the older members of the Sky Blue family what we, inexperienced semi-final newbies should be feeling, thinking and doing.

What did you seniors get up to in the halcyon days of yore?

Do you too feel more tense this time round and how are you managing yourself?

If you actually remember the 50's success do you have a defibrillator to hand. Just in case?

Cmon oldies give all us young 'uns a pep talk will you, the tension is already getting close to unbearable.

Loving every minute of the build up and the fact that for all their pontificating about how Liverpool is their 'real derby' the fuckers have shown their true colours at last and we've finally got to them.

Can't wait for Wednesday its what following City is all about and far too many of our younger supporters have never had the opportunity of nights like these.

If we lose so what, yes we'll be gutted but life will go on as normal for us Blues but hey if we win then it'll send shockwaves across Manchester and the footballing nation because the Blues will finally have arrived.

Don't worry too much everyone because whatever the result on Wednesday night its now only a matter of time before success inevitably comes our way. Getting over that line for the first time is often the most difficult but once we've managed it our players self confidence will grow tenfold. There is no stopping City anymore we are firmly on our way.

Go there, soak up every minute, love it, embrace it, be loud, be proud, be City and stop worrying what may or may never happen.

The tension is much worse than when I lost my first shilling to my brother on the outcome of a derby.

But I will settle for what needs to be done.

But we do have the advantage, not often apparent in many years gone by, that the Rags and the red hordes know we can do 'em.

How many of us have been so quiet after a derby result before. Especially given the circumstances with Carlos and Chuckle Hardstare etc........

Roll on Weds, enjoy it blues............tick tock

Interesting things happening in the betting market. Manure are firm odds on favourites to win the leg but it's neck and neck regarding who'll go through to the final with some bookies giving us the very slight edge, others are the other way round, but only just, there a few that can't split us.
This year we can almost be in a no lose situation - if they turn us over and qualify we can rightly claim to be in a period of re-construction and have already met or exceeded expectations in that dept. If (when!) we qualify for the final - well, euphoria hits the blue side of town and we'll have to put the Thames Barrier on flood alert with all the tears that will be shed darn sarf!

Next year though - much more will be expected of us and we'll be approaching games (as we used to back in the days) wondering how many we'll win by rather than hoping for a victory and being massively disappointed if otherwise.

I am a pretty level headed person and have a pretty steady emotional state, with very few peaks and troughs.

If we win and go through I will be pretty happy of course and if we dont manage to get to the final I will slaughter the first born of all Rag families in the UK and burn down both Carrington and Old Trafford.

As I say no real crazy reactions.
