FELLI ADIEU?
By now everyone knows Marouane Fellaini's Dad plays a large part in his football life. We also know he has been sounding off about Felli moving on to (a) win trophies and (b) make more money, but not necessarily in that order.
So far the media haven't posted much about potential transfers out, though early on there were the usual rumours linking him to almost any club you could think of with mad money to spend.
This is either good news or ominous depending on what way you look at it. It could mean there is no real interest, or a confidential deal has already been done and just awaits final agreement.
We don't know what the original buying terms were, but it's doubtful the full amount was paid up front. We just don't have that kind of money. Probably it is being paid 'on the drip.' If that's the way it's being paid then it would complicate any sale deal, so maybe that's the delay.
Felli would be a big loss for us playing wise and a big gain for whoever he might go to, though the playing damage might be limited if Jack Rodwell fulfils his promise.
We don't want him to go, but the banks have to be paid somehow, and with them pleading poverty again it might be a matter of having to do as we're told.
Loyalty plays only a small part. It all comes down to money, who has it and who hasn't and who wants it. It may be rotten, but that's the way it works. If you can't pay for a match ticket you don't go the match.
