Just had a comparison on Sky about the contrast between what Chelsea spent on Diego Costa and what Burnley have spent. If they did that when City were playing (say with Mangala), this place would go into meltdown!

Lets see it with Utd going there in a few weeks. They often show Chelsea and us in this regard but they wont show the Utd line up cost or pick a player ie Mata and compare v Burnley team

We have been getting favourable coverage in some sections of the media today.

It's a drop in the ocean, but in the interest of balance it's worth noting and let's see if it continues.

Haha.

The most unbalanced poster on the forum's most unbalanced thread says "in the interest of balance".

Top stuff. Keep it coming cowboy.

Pleased to give you a laugh Dave. It can't be much fun in your world of denial.

By the way that last line is reserved for the missus, if you don't mind.

The DM online yesterday city's win over Newcastle , the champions and the hardest game of the top 4 stuck below the dippers full page story in a little corner somewhere. Just had a look and Chelsea have a full 8 story section of their own at the top wanking over their amazing win vs burnley.
How are the champions so insignificant?

Whilst this improvement is welcome I think the bias and agenda objectives shown by the media generally is still something that should be totally replaced by the bias and agenda shown by the enlightened ones on this thread.

Until other PL teams are ignored or only headlined if they are being critisised I think we should continue the campaign.
All our opposition must get used to the fact that positive MCFC news should headline any media sports pages before any reference is made to a brief account of their limited achievements no matter how news worthy the content may be.

a disappointment shared by the entire BBC

thanks george, a nice positive piece reflecting that they were second to the champions

your coming round, you will get there, just like those other beliefs

Just been looking at all the games over the weekend with the yellow card to fouls committed ratio and (correct me I'm wrong) but no one is near as high as ours 5 yellows to 11 fouls committed.

Don't want to add to the paranoia but...

That's not unusual
The Times podcast looked into this last season, of course the Times are Agenderistas too, and the average number of fouls committed before getting a yellow card was about six, whereas for Manchester City it was about three.

So if you play in the sky blue of Manchester City you are twice as likely to get booked
We must have some vicious thugs playing for us

He's one of the dirtiest players I've ever seen in a City shirt, reminds me of Tony Grealish

it was a cynical little foul though, had no complaints when he got booked

interesting little stat never the less

The agenda is to sell stuff. The greater a readership number the more papers can charge for advertising space, so although Manchester United finished 7th last season there is no way that 6 other teams will get more exposure the ManYoo.

There is always a big lead in story on the back of the paper which pulls the potential reader in. If this is a splash about 'them' the great unwashed who follow Manchester United will be far more liable to stick there hands in their pockets.

They will also create villains & heros to fit a narrative, if you look back on the title run in the media as a whole backed the Liverpool push, telling everyone that Liverpool deserved it with their exciting attacking play. Awards were handed out and the only thing missing was they ultimately failed. The coverage of the City run in and the incredible string of results we gained despite playing catch up was not given much attention. City won a double last year and you would hardly know over the summer. We don't sell papers yet in the same league as Liverpool or Manchester United, this same theory could be applied to TV shows, podcasts, radio, magazines etc....

"The whole country is rooting for Liverpool, blah blah blah" And I kind of got the impression from neutral football fans that I know that it was actually working to an extent.

But then, of course, having had a closer look at the scouse cult in full fury, the neutrals started recoiling en masse. Common sense 1 - media twats 0. Ha ha.
