Players are always the last to know about anything regarding transfers.

Whereas TH does know but is not in a position where he can pass the information on.
Which leaves him with two choices -
Not post at all or do so in the form of allusion.

Fair play to him for choosing the latter, a courtesy that most appreciate.

Unfortunately there's always some hysterical virgins that ruin it.

Personally I can't be arsed with all the nudge-nudge wink-wink nonsense that goes on in here (doesn't bother me but it's not my thing) so I'll state very clearly that I have no intention of stating how I know. It is not for me to say.

But I should amend my words there because I realise in the transfer forum the word 'know' is God. He 'knows' a damn sight more than most of us.

So if someone cracks one of his Youtube riddles and figures out that we're interested in player X then City are indeed interested in player X.

To what extent that interest amounts to is entirely down to interpretation.

That's all it boils down to but isn't that a good thing in itself?

I have a reservation over his ability to work alongside players he dislikes and how we cast they away. Vague posts about players who fo the heart thing, everyone Bale and he meant Alacantra. Whhy not 2 vids like a Flamenco dance and then the Heart video? Hazard was way off and we pulled out week before Chelsea signed him yet we were told we were right in for him. I'm not knocking TH but I will say he jumps the gun by posting premature info. We've been linked with Muller, Lowandowski, Alacantra, Cheick Tiote (Cheick he posted before), RVP and were told Bombs were imminent. Little has happened and yet mods scratch their heads why people are sceptical and frustrated. Yet again I reaffirm TH is a sound poster by my reckoning but if he was on the pull and his efforts so far were to go by then he'd be going by himself with his right hand looking very attractive.

Let's not forget TH is only as good as his source btw, any personal attacks show lack of intellect in looking at the bigger picture. City are running a tight ship now and maybe TH 'bulletproof info' (Damocles said) has become blank info and info intended to b leaked with half truths to throw sent off.

As for transfers, I predict a frenzy as window closes, across the board too.

I think the problem in relation to TH is twofold:

Firstly, the forum suffers from the 'drama queenery' that is common on forums. In this thread, everyone keeps referring to the 'abuse' that TH was subjected to yet, along with some others who have commented, I don't see this abuse. I can see people questioning but I see no abuse.

Secondly, the forum had sacred cows (and these have largely been established by the Mods). TH was set up as a protected species with special privileges that attracted different treatment. For example, earlier in this thread one poster tells another that he is talking "fucking shite" - that's fine, forums are about opinion. If those words had been directed at TH it would have brought about a wailing and gnashing of teeth of truly Scouse proportions !

For myself I have no clue if TH knows anything or not - and it doesn't really matter. I don't, however, see any signs of "abuse"

Not a great summer for ITKs in general. MCRJON got 2/3 (Cunningham to Bristol City, Roman to Barca, but the £78,000/week signing never happened), Akai called Omar Abdulrahman, I think Tolmie called Kompany's contract... but a lot of promises and hints (DEFCON, bombs...) haven't really resulted in anything.

Again, Ntini77, this should refer to the defenders as well as the abusers.

I'm balding prematurely anyway (I think Manchester must have been directly in the windpath of Chernobyl, cos I barely know anyone my age with a full head of hair), but the 'it's true cos TH said so' makes me tear my head-stubble out as much as the idiots who abuse when people are just speculating and gossiping.

IMO there should be a new code of conduct, but one that is neutral (i.e. not protecting certain posters, but not allowing childish abuse either).

I've only been here 3 summer windows now. But this stuff happens every summer since I joined. Tolm is a very mature person, he understands how this forum works. I'm sure once we've signed some good players and everyone is satisfied, things will calm down and return to normal.

People need to give their head a shake.

The fawning over TH is embarrassing, but so is the abuse he gets. People just need to make up their own opinion and nothing else should matter, if you believe him - fine but the amount of posts similar to "where is tolmie we need him" is embarrassing. On the same scale, anything that doesn't come to fruition, calling him a cnut for it, is equally as bad. Just stick to your opinion and read the forum without being so fucking dramatic, either way.

I have my own personal opinion of TH, I think he's one of these that comes by 'some' information, and then plays on it when the masses start to follow (which they do in force on here). He's very clever in that he posts stuff, without actually posting anything, and then states it as personal opinion if he's called out. I think he dropped a bollock yesterday by jumping on a bandwagon which proved to be false. Whatever he says, can always be interpreted differently, he is clever in what he does.

Now, that's my view on him and I'm well within my rights to say that, but to give him personal abuse is fucking ridiculous and anyone that does should be banned without hesitation. Everyone on here is quite capable of expressing an opinion without resorting to that sort of shit. It really is quite amazing how dramatic some are on here, it's like a menstrual cycle support group.

As for Tolmie, he'll be back, don't worry.

Pretty much sums my feelings up, expecially the bolded bit. I've no doubt that he does get fed info but he doesn't help himself at times when he says that something is definitely happening - yesterday was a good case in point. It's not the first time either - when City needed a keeper a couple of seasons ago, he said we'd negotiated Joe Hart's release from his loan spell and that he was coming back for the final few games. It never materialised despite his insistence that it would. He told me that the reason it never came off is because Carson Yeung changed the goalposts at the last minute - fair enough, unexpected things can happen as we all know but if that's the case don't say something is a nailed on certainly. I've tried to give him a bit of helpful advice since about the way he conveys some of his info if only to help himself and stop the transfer muppets giving him abuse but it ended up with him getting all defensive and me being on the wrong end of a condescending post by another member.
