The Ewan Mccoll song was dirty old town, did you meen that one as his best one?

the other song got shoved on the same reply by the system and admitedly has nothing to do with Ewan McColl, all though I would of loved to of heard his take on it!!!
Aah I get it now. I love a lot of MacColl songs and couldn't possibly single one out. Dirty Old Town is up there though for sure.

Great spot! I remember Barry Adamson did an instrumental album called Moss Side Story, but don't think it was a song as such, more a soundtrack for a non-existent film

There`s a great folk song about slum clearance in Manchester.Specifically about a old dear living i Gorton and having to be dragged out of her house to be re-housed in the brand new housing estate in the country =Hattersley.

think the titled is just HATTERSLEY.

Quality! I like Doves, but must say I've never heard that track. A B-side?

Yeah think it's on lost sides (album of b-side)

For the life of me I can't remember the band- who was it did that soul rending depiction of the existential wasteland of growing up amongst the wine bars of Hale Barns? 'Alderley Edge Not Street For Me' I think it was called.
