The OP literally said that they were having difficulty re-housing a dog from the UK, for whatever reason. “UK dogs for UK homes” is impressive dedication to nationalism though! Can’t you just be happy that a dog, any dog, has been given a better life?!
Ok

Why was it difficult to home a dog from the UK? That being said anyone who homes an animal and cares for it has my full support and admiration whatever the circumstances, good luck to Sophie and her lovely new family.

I have a sister who re=homes dogs - takes after my mum she was always a staging post for waifs and strays as I was growing up. She re-homes a lot of dogs from Europe many of whom were used as fighting dogs. I have never met dogs that are so mis-trusting of people.

I hate people who abuse kids but a close second comes animals. I'd lock them all up and throw away the keys

...and anyone that abuses the old. And then it's anyone that drops litter. cnuts.

Its nothing to do with nationality. There are thousands of dogs in Greece, France and everywhere else that need a good home. Why is this even a story.
If you want a dog, go to a UK dogs home.

For reasons I don't really understand adopting from a UK dogs home is really difficult. For example if you have children who are less than later teenagers then a significant majority of the apparently available dogs are immediately considered unsuitable for you, then if you have any smaller pets like a cat that discounts the rest of them! I understand matching the right dog to the right people is important but the criteria seems to be so tough that its self defeating.

Watched the vid by the way...you'll have to post more later on and show the progress.

all the xenophobic bollocks being posted aside its so sad to see any animal in that state isn't it. The only language animals speak is that of love and its sad to see an animal in that state.

My best Mans mum had a donkey sanctuary in Dorset 20 odd years ago - those your kids ride on the beach are not all treated really well - and I went down once. There were two newcomers in the paddock and they didn't even trust other donkeys as they had only been there a couple of days. They were very aggressive with the others over food ( clearly not fed very well where they came from and had to fight for a meal ) and we were warned off trying to stroke them as they would bite and not to walk behind them unless you fancied a kick stoving your head in - some of them it seemed never fully integrated.
