"David Moyes is keen on Manchester City midfielder Stephen Ireland." he declares, adding that:

"The 23-year-old told City boss Roberto Mancini last season he wanted to move away from Eastlands.

"Ireland stopped short of handing in a transfer request but had become frustrated at the lack of first-team chances.

"And with City linked with David Silva, Yaya Toure and James Milner, Ireland hopes an £8million bid from the Toffees will be enough for a fresh start."/quote]

Is that it?

Ireland to Everton.

Does Mancini not see how sublime the football of Ireland is?

Manchester City Football Club is surely more than a brand.

£8,000,000? Piss off! £15,000,000 before we even come to the table with you lot!

He needs to move on, as he won't get a game next season. He'll do well if he goes to a decent team and gets 1st team football. I wouldn't really care if that meant Everton.

No he doesn't. In fairness no-one else saw it last season either.

And therein lies the problem.

Unfortunately.

Ireland is his own worst enemy I fear..Getting a new club might kickstart his career again. Just slap a good sell-on clause on him and ship him away to a mid-level club unless he can produce the kind of football we know he´s capable of.

One season wonder, last season proved that on the occasions he did get in the team he wasn't up to the job.

Pity people can't see the bigger picture beyond the only good season he has had for us.

Why would Everton need to add to The Best Midfield in the UniverseTM?

Cape Hunting Dog Pienaar will be on his bike I expect.

But I can just see The Emerald Prince ruling the midfield roost at EFC for the next ten years - he'll do what Alan Ball did for them. Up his money (I know he'll buy more pink fish and pink cars!) and make him captain, Roberto!
