South Korea Under-18s have been stripped of a trophy for "indecent" celebrations after a player posed for a photo with his foot on it.

WTF is this about, this level of outrage has only ever been seen in Liverpool before, anyone know why its so offensive to the Chinese?

I hadn't realised that China was that big on it, but it is a huge insult in e.g. Thailand. Show the sole of your foot to the king of Thailand and you get arrested.

That the Koreans have apologised for it suggests it's quite accepted to be insulting.

There has to be a cultural explanation, but it seems bizarre that they spit everywhere and let their kids shit out of a hole in the back of their baby-gro, but you can't put your foot on a trophy.....sour grapes maybe?
