No creativity whatsoever. We have been so reliant on KDB and Cancelo to create in the last couple of seasons, with them performing so badly (Cancelo is a total liability atm) we just offer nothing.

Foden, Gundo, Grealish and others just do nothing like enough to make up for Kev's poor form. Really wish we had a 25yr old David Silva at the min.
 
I’m fine with going out, I don’t think a two legged semi would do us any good given the schedule ahead but the manner of that exit was shocking. Lost every physical battle, passing awful, not one good performance from any of them. We made Southampton look superb. Worrying.
 
This is going to be an interesting thread.

Couple of wins against a Chelsea team in turmoil papered over some pretty clear cracks.

Plenty of the team been out of form and something seriously strange going on with Walker, Cancelo, Foden.

You'd think Phillips would be raring to go to prove a point, Gomez a serious downgrade on Zinny.

Only positive so far for this season has been Haaland, I'm sure we'll be raring to go soon once Pep has worked out what's going on, but it's not pretty watching right now.

Hoping for a response at the weekend.

Pep seems to have strangled the spontaneity out of this team?

We seem to care more about what the opponent can do than we can?

Buy a proper left back this window or end up with nothing this season.

£200m on Grealish, Phillips, Ake and Akanji.

These are not top shelf players.
 
That was a very poor performance, with nobody doing well. The value of John Stones has never been more evident. Nevertheless, Southampton also played well and we cannot beat a team playing like that, with so many players below par.
 
So many players out of form and looking bereft of confidence. No pace and width in attack once again - fingers have to be pointed at Pep for making matters worse by constantly picking disjointed narrow teams. It’s awful and predictable to watch and we’re sleep walking our way to a trophyless season and top four battle.
 
I said in the Matchday thread. Skybet had 40/1 on no shots on target in the second half for city.

Lyanco frightened our players who were mostly cowardly - anyway hopefully a big reaction at the weekend. That was back to Pearce type play, not a single shot on target against a poor defence.
