Gündoğan just did so little though. I was going mad at him at one point as Delph was taking a throw-in with no option and while Sané was moving for him but kept being double marked while Gündoğan just stood next to the Leicester player not moving an inch, not giving Delph an option. He was like that when we were in possession far too often as well.

Fair shout. But every other team in the league seems to throw their youngsters in at the deep end, why can’t we? And we supposedly have the brightest youngsters around.

Yeah gundogan seems like he day dreams so so much. Constantly passes to a player who’s marked by 3, when he’s missing out someone free. If he starts, hopefully none of us will be losing our shit at him! Hopefully he makes us proud

The problem we have is Gundogan is an awful tackler, he was non existent against Leicester and Stones is too static in there, he slowed everything down against Palace.

Neither are a viable CDM option IMO but I don’t know who is, other than Delph but he’s now banned.
 
One plus I’ve just remembered about this game is that Delph is suspended so hopefully Laporte will play left back and they won’t score at the back post when Fabien forgets his positioning.

When Laporte has played at left back previously it’s been a disaster he simply doesn’t have the pace for that position. Whilst the young lad Zinchenko isn’t much quicker he is more familiar in that role and I think it isn’t so much as a square peg in a round hole situation as it would be with Eric there. Additionally don’t want Laporte losing confidence if he does have a shit game at left back as he’s needed for his normal position in the games to come.

I'd rather we play one of the best CB's in the world at CB personally, alongside Stones preferably, its the beggering about with that partnership that has started this slump in results.
 
Either way I’m happy Delph won’t be playing there. He’s been a disaster recently and targeted. The though of him vs Salah would have given me nightmares.
 
I would play KDB as pivot with the two Silva's in front of him, his passing range is like a quarterback so we can hit back to front in an instant with all the pace we have, I certainly think he's disciplined enough to play the role so I'd go something like this:

___________________KDB_____________________

Yeah you’re right. What’s the point in spending all these millions on this acedmey, if they’re never going to be trusted to play?

Me too, try it tomorrow, if it works use it against the dippers, he also tackles unlike Gundogan, if the two have to play, I'd play him there and Gundogan further forward.

The point is obvious. The best young talent get a schooling that is second to none and many will have a very fruitful career in top football. This generates a lot of revenue for the club and gives us first dibs on those "special talents"
