Fantastic result for us today, the games like this where you don't play your best but still win the games are what wins leagues.

Forget about the dippers, we can't do anything about their results other than win the two games we play against them. Sure we could have been 3 points behind them but could also easily have been 9 behind them as well.

Massive 3 points, will be mean a lot come the Christmas congestion.

By Feb I'm confident we'll be the league leaders.

He's just starting to play regularly with the team. May be just a coincidence, but Foden provided the best pass for him to run on to and whip a cross in. I think we are not yet using his crossing well.

The 3 points is ultimately all that matters today and there didn’t appear to be any obvious injuries so job done In that respect but I think there’s legitimate concerns about our attack as much as there is about our defence at the minute.

It seems like we’re playing games as if they’re repetitive training drills, there only ever seems to be one plan for attack and that’s to pass the ball side to side until we work our way up the pitch and then look for that underlapping 8 run into the edge of the box on the blind side of the fullback and look for a cutback from there. That’s something that simply doesn’t work when the opponents play with all 10 men behind the ball and in a narrow formation effectively giving up the wings knowing they’re going to be favourites to win a cross with a minimum of 5-6 giants in the box against 1-2 midgets for us.

We’ve got other weapons in the squad we need to come up with other variations to our play against defences like that to avoid similar games. it was the same against wolves and the same for 45 minutes against Villa too. Ordinarily, you can say we ground out the win when not playing well and look at that as a positive but I don’t think we necessarily wore them down today nor was we particularly poor in our play, we just failed to change our approach which they nullified comfortably. Going to have to be a hell of a lot better next week to take anything,

We have to be one of the worst teams when it comes to corners, better off just letting them take a goal kick

He did exactly what was expected of him by his masters, do not expect him to get hauled over the coals
