On the game: Mahrez and Zin were fantastic. The midfield was still over run which is a concern. Far too many defensive changes caused instability and the mistakes crept in. I can see why he is trying to put Kev in the team but John , Dias , Zin and Cancelo is the stability that we need right now.

Pep is trying to keep them all happy and it is effecting us on the pitch but it’s his problem to solve. If at the end of the season we win multiple trophies It will be justified.

Never easy to get the right balance when you have a fully available squad , an abundance of riches when everyone is firing sometimes without major imbalance the odd minor injury or suspension is more than manageable.

As you say wolvie the points are all that matters and isn't that in the end all that matters despite the incidents and in this case some shocking decisions made by officialdom during the game.
 
That has to be the oddest game I've seen in ages, at times some of the defensive play was so comical, from both sides, you just couldn't believe your eyes.

We won and it was entertaining but by God if we play like that against better sides we are going to have a few Leicester results!

Phil proving he should have started the derby, the poor bugger deserved a goal he was everywhere.

Serious questions need to be asked about the impartiality and blatant decisions we are not being given. Also about Moss, Atkinson and Mason. Those three cheats must have fucked us up more than any other refs over the years. Here's Pep's view and he's spot on.

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola, speaking to BBC Sport: "We won because of the quality of the players we had on the pitch.

"It is just incredible that penalty was not given. One day they are going to explain why. I do not understand it. It's incredible that in four-and-a-half-years we have won everything ourselves. No-one has given us anything.

This cannot be allowed to go on. It is biased corruption, surely somebody has to be answerable?

United have had 700 penalties this season because as soon as they feel the slightest touch they hit the deck. I strongly suspect this is being coached because if you stay on your feet there’s no way the ref awards a penalty and VAR won’t overrule. However, once the ref awards the penalty and VAR detects contact however slight the decision will stand. The cheating rag twats have figured this out and are using the system to their advantage. Unfortunately the ineptitude of our refs makes it naive and counter productive to be honest so fuck em hit the deck and give them a decision to make.
 
Thought Southampton cut through our midfield too easily , and our defence was under pressure at times the result was good but the performance was a liitle shaky all round , we gave up possession too much in midfield. Every credit to Southampton they didnt park the bus , i really rate their manager always on the front foot , but overall what a great game of football.

IMO clipped him left knee to right knee with his leg and on Foden's left foot with his right foot.

Surely Rammy it shouldn't come down to how Foden responded he was tripped and went down.

he got up quickly but if he has to stay down or heighten the fall and as you say stay down what is the game coming to.

No excuse for us to get shafted on this incident which beyond all doubt we were.

Moss was incredibly incompetent, the penalty non decision on Foden shows how poor the premier league referees are. VAR isn’t working because you have an awful ref on the pitch backed by another awful ref in Stockley Park. Instead of using VAR to give the referee another pair of eyes it’s giving 2 fools an excuse to come to wrong decision.

FFS why did he take FFS off. He was the best player on the pitch and on for a hatrick. If you’re a striker you’d be really peed off if you got subbed when you’ve scored two goals!

We all know it’s wrong but you’ve got to make the ref make a decision. By staying on his feet, Phil made it easier for Moss.

Resting him mate, same with De Bruyne and Zinchenko. Plus giving fringe players some game time. The game was won.
