I think Pep will stick with Dias and Stones
Cancelo will be rested so it may be a rare start for Mendy over Zinchenko and Walker in at RB
Fern, Foden, Torres, Aguero, Bernardo and Gundogan all to start

I really think this is how we'll set up, but the issue is, if Mendy starts, that Walker and Mendy are not technical and won't play inside. They'll be outside which is where Foden and Torres will be unless Pep switches Foden and Torres to be inverted
Of course the above scenario is null and void if Cancelo or/and Zinchenko starts
 
A nervy 2-1 I reckon, hoping it all clicks and we thunder in 4/5/6 of the bastards but for all of those 21 wins in a row I still had a nagging feeling we're not clinical enough in most of those games, same for the United game, if we had put away three or four of them we'd have won having played shite. Or shiter, we've become accustomed to 95% pass success ratio and it's an extremely noticeable when the figures dip below that mark. Anyway, 2-1 for me
 
After a defeat and after a European game the next game boils down to winning. Doesn't matter how really, the principle aim is to win. Winning comfortably, or even well, is bonus territory.

Get your best team out, and give Soton a hard time. Ward-Prowse is a genuine threat from any set piece, especially in shooting range, so it's press high and foul nearer to the half-way of you have to, and no sticking the boot in around the box. Che Adams is also a decent striker who'll just have a pop from anywhere so whilst Soton aren't great, they have some good players.

Foden and Bernie back in, Kdb stays. Sterling out, Aguero at lest half an hour. Laporte and Walker in.
 
Think the most important qualities for the next few games are calmness, patience and confidence.

We shouldn't put us under too much pressure thinking that it is absolutely vital to win tonight, for we will be nervous and can make mistakes.

We shouldn't be desperate to decide the game quickly, for if we spend a lot of energy and Southampton manage to stay in the game, the final parts of the game won't be pretty.

We should be calm, patient and confident in our class. Shit happens, sometimes in games in a row. Staying calm and confident is key.
 
Very strong winds forecast. Conditions will be difficult, should help them. Should beat them and get back to winning ways but i can see us losing this. They can be hit or miss, i think they'll add to our weekend woes

so much positivity. winds forecast is from 9pm. an hour after we would be done with them. they are not hit or miss. they have been poorest in form since our reverse game back in dec.
