Spanish FA President Luis Rubiales | Resigns (p 34)

One question, would you be happy if someone kissed your partner like that without her consent?
We have a friend who apparently puckers up a bit sloppily. All the wives laugh and joke about it. There was a lady at work who was like a licking lizard at Christmas party time I recall. No one raised anything formal. Perhaps they should.
The guy got carried away and made a mistake. It wasn't malicious, but he'll probably have to go.

That post should have been sent under one of your original usernames..
My post wasn’t really about having an old fashioned outlook on this, I asked a question about why we don’t we kick up a fuss when men do it to other men?

Gabriel Jesus clearly didn’t like Pep kissing him here (pulled his head back and frowned):

But we don’t see a problem with that?

Why doesn’t everyone kick off with men when they do it to other men? Each of these instances were unexpected plants on the kisser from one man to another who didn’t know it was coming:

And they received very little media attention and never got a mention on here.

That’s^ just one of those celebratory football kisses that you see every week. So why do we treat men differently in this situation than we are the female player? This recent one from the women’s WC was less of a proper kiss than all those above.

Maybe because the player in question has publicly stated it was unwelcomed, unpleasant and completely inappropriate.

We can all have our opinions about those other situations, but in this specific one, the player themselves has voiced her disapproval about what happened and wants action to be taken. We have a frame of reference of outrage coming direct from the person affected. That's why is being discussed in much more fervour.

Maybe the men feel exactly the same but don’t want to come forward to complain?

We can only really discuss incidents where there have been both sides presented though mate.
This one was wholly irresponsible and a bit fucking creepy tbh. From an FA that has previously been accused of some fairly unsavoury incidents as well.
The lady in question is the only person who can say wherever or not this was inappropriate and it seems she very much thought it was.

People cannot act on their behalf though. We can have opinions, suggest what should be done, or even have the appropriate authorities come to the conclusion that a line was crossed and disciplinary action must be taken.

In this instance however, there is a direct accusation of unwanted and inappropriate behaviour from someone in a position of power and influence who is refusing to ackowledge their own actions. The main reason why there wasn't as much outrage about the other instances is primarily because the players involved made no complaints, publicly or privately.

Those other players may have a adopted a "meh, whatever" attitude about the whole affair, we don't know. But here we do have a clear opinion from Hermoso that she was not comfortable with what happened.

If he'd have apologised unreservedly straight away then it might have played out differently. Instead he has doubled down and now accused the player of lying, and threatening legal action. His conduct has been totally inappropriate, and his position is now untenable.
