Speaker help

I've got a 5.1 Surround Sound speaker system connected to my pc. When it's in 5.1 mode, the rear left speaker isn't working but when it's in Stereo mode it does work, so it's clearly not a fault with the speaker itself.

Does anyone have any clue as to what might be going on and how I can solve this as it's driving me mad? Only started doing this in the last week or two.

Sorry col, it's the only way to solve it :(

the software should have a 'demo' facility. Try that in surround mode, be prepared to re-install drivers, if the speaker is still not working.

What OS are you using? Have you installed any audio drivers? If so, which?

Have you tried switching on your left ear?
