Sporting CP (H) - CL Last 16 | Post Match Thread

They did mate I was watching it from third tier
Fair enough, I was also in the top tier Colin Bell stand, when I looked over at the away end I couldn't see them doing it but I could see the phone lights around the stadium, maybe they just kept them on for longer.
Looking at why they may have been doing it, it seems they won the Cup winners cup in 1964, and the 64th minute was about the time they did it. Maybe we should start doing it in the 70th minute.

You can’t help but love Carson. By all accounts is a thoroughly decent chap. I enjoy these little sentimental gestures.

its actually a shame that his career didn’t pan out the way he probably wanted or expected given how highly regarded he was on his youth.

That mistake from Croatia defined him for a long time and not the first English keeper to suffer such issues.
I’m glad that he’s at City and commands the respect from world class players at City.

And the game itself. Erm. Nice from Fernandinho and stones. Egan Riley did ok. Nothing more nothing less. Although some rascal moves in the corner at the end. Hopefully do his confidence the world of good.

I really want mcatee to take a game by the scruff of the neck. I think he has a lot more on his locker but everything is a bit safe at the moment. I know that is what pep wants but I look at him and he doesn’t look like he’s enjoying himself fully.! I hope he has that breakout game soon and shows what he’s all about.

Jesus started well then faded. I hope he has a say in things from now on in though cos we are going to need everyone bang on it now.

Keeper blunders are brutal to get over. Look at Karius. Still at Liverpool. No one wants him.

We did what we needed to do & we're through to the last 8. The kids played well which was brilliant to see, but to be honest I'd rather have seen Delap come on instead of Carson.

At least in this match we didn't make the mistake of playing a full strength team in a game that we just needed to manage. This game was more important than the one where Walker was sent off, but we played a weaker team (Notwithstanding "Injuries"), so hopefully this is another lesson learned.

Now it's creaky arse time! :-)

Midway through the second half, a few city fans got their torches on the phones on and were shining them around like at a take that concert... Can anyone explain why this was?
Bit of fun maybe????

Could you provide stats to back up your comments
raheem has a 68% success rate dribbling , so every 2 in 3 attempts he succeeds , hope that helps
