Spurs (A) | PL | Post-Match Thread

It's Pep, and has been for a while.

Sending out teams with no consistent plan, shorn of putting players in their natural positions.

We have one of the greatest strikers in the world and consistently fail to play close enough to him for him to receive the ball in front of goal.

That's on Pep. Kev is slowing down at a rate of knots but there is nobody else who is able to create.

We are struggling for identity and leaders.

Can't fault Grealish and Ake application today.

It's absolutely criminal we have failed to address the lack of creativity and pace in the team.

The positive is, we tend to sort what’s needed in the squad out better when we have a poor season.
Certainly needs fixing and quickly, have no faith in our cb's at the moment. This style slow slow style of play is a world away from the centurion teams, we've slowly gone backwards since then.

Pep like Wenger brought changes to football that were ground breaking and put them both head and shoulders above other managers of their day, However football is not static and opposing teams over a period of time work out how to play against these teams.

Wenger would not change and he was caught and overtaken by other teams, the same is happening with Pep whom will not compromise his style of play and we can see teams now know how to beay us

there is no enjoyment watching this team it’s slow and boring and there is no consistency in team selection, he over thinks and tinkers every fucking game

we won’t win the CL under Pep because he simply won’t let the team go for it

Cancelo was supposedly booted out for a toxic attitude, but to me at looks as if most of the squad are fucked off with Pep. Can anyone explain where Laporte and Dias are? Yet another reshuffled backline, and for what? What exactly was his plan with that today? Spurs looked like scoring everytime they came forward.

Something isn't right, and it doesn't just feel like transition syndrome. League is done. CL, let's be brutally honest, isn't happening. I hope it is just a case of a rebuild being needed, but to me Pep looks like he's losing all enthusiasm and tactical nous.

The matchday thread and this is akin to a boxers corner throwing the fucking towel in after 10 seconds and one punch!

Get a fucking grip ffs.

No divine right to win every game or every PL. This manager and squad has broken records, left, right and centre and will do so again over the next few years as he rebuilds.

Meanwhile we are 2nd in the fucking PL and still in the FA cup and CL.

This places will explode if we ever got back in pre takeover days.

So, exactly how many players do we think Pep has a problem with or how many players have a problem with Pep ?
So many different views, so many different ideas that im fucking lost ????????

I really like Ake, and Akanji is okay, but your right, I think some problems can be traced to the backline to be fair.

They aren't meant to be starters to begin with, but when Stones and Laporte are continually injured this is what happens.

Laporte, Dias and Stones in the back 3 means we play out way better, makes the midfield better, and gives the attack more chances.

It's not the whole problem with the squad, but it is some of the problem, the midfield and attack has it's own issues too of course, but if the base is off, it affects all of them.
Ake is currently our best LB and I know plenty on here will argue our best defender this season. The point isn’t that Ake isn’t doing his best (he is), it’s that his best is levels below the best of the likes of Kompany, Dias, Stones, Laporte etc.

We are truly fked, no ones arsed, no one enjoys being there, the manager clearly is fed up, even us lot are just fed up, we don't even cheer when we beat the league leaders in the FA Cup. We are in the mire aka Billy McNiel days.. ill trudge to ganes though lile many. Klopp and Pep have had their day. Both ate bored

Spot on. There is no logic to what we saw today. Not involving Haaland at all, Alvarez complete lost, strange selection and too many players making bad decisions.
Would be easy to think that behind the scenes there are a hell of a lot of unhappy people

He needs a rest. But Phillips isn’t ready to replace him annd Gundo isn’t the right choice against their break.

We did have a few good looks today. Just annoying because Arsenal gave us a golden opportunity.
not having the rest malarkey sorry. the last midweek game was tottenham on the 14th Jan. its been a leisurely one game a week since then and 8 days break with another 7 to the next game. the sharpness should be there.
