Spurs (A) Post match Thread

i love our club and even when we were shite i wasn’t a moaner. However, Mendy appears to be a defensive liability, we’ll win the premier league with him, but in the latter stages of the champs league i reckon he will be targeted as the weak link. i think we should be on the look out for some real competition for him. i don’t think he’s capable of taking instructions onboard. Basically he a loose cannon and will be found out in the biggest games

I was anxious every time the ball went near him last night but it was no coincidence that all 4 full backs struggled last night. He wasn't a weak link in the Liverpool game and I am putting spurs game down to confidence with the playing surface last night.

All the players were being very deliberate when receiving and passing the ball but yes he struggled the most and seemed to be stuck in having the confidence to get up and down as he normally does. He admitted himself he had a poor game but my feeling is it was more a one off due to the extreme conditions

Lamela was a disgrace thought out the game Diving to win fouls and sinde attacks on City players Ref Friend had a final warning with the captain Kane after 30 mins yet he continued to get away with it, including two immediately after the warnings, how he didn't get booked I will never know
He's a snidey twat in every game.

Not happy at taking two days off work for such a scrappy game but it was a great feeling walking back to the car with three points and having out-played Spuds on that wrecked pitch. And brilliant that a bobble off said wrecked pitch probably cost them a late equaliser.
We did our best to set them up; almost every one of their attacks came from a City mistake, but they couldn't capitalise. We were a bit off up front and should really have scored more.
We were the better team, nobody can deny that. My mate thought we were just less shit than they were but the comments on Talkshite implied they thought we produced a decent performance.
As for "lucky". We were lucky that the ball bobbled before Llama messed up, but that would have been a scant consolation goal had we taken our chances. So it's fair to said Spurs were also "lucky" that we didn't have our shooting boots on.

Wow!!! Fernandinho!!!! I think he’s the only player in our team that looks irreplaceable at the moment the only position we don’t have cover

Clearly the pitch influenced play. It was wobbling and it slowed the speed of the ball down significantly.

Spurs played a physical line-up that looked a decent plan on this pitch but I thought we coped better.

Unfortunately they ended up looking like Camden tractors taking on proper off-roaders. Silva ran rings around them like a dirt-bike, whilst Fernandinho's tenacity and agility on the field bought to mind nothing less than an Sd Kfz 231 (8 wheel) armored car.
